Literature Text

When I consider all we feel, my sweet
It begs to ask a deeper question yet.
What troubled times these are indeed, I fret,
Apart from you and still far from complete.
I toss and turn within my own defeat,
And feel the nervous beads of chilling sweat
Drip down my face while dreaming I'm beset
By yearnings for your love and for your heat.
So let us let our dreams run wild, my dear
Imagine now a little place; a world
Where skies are blue and cares are gone for now.
A world for us, our love, our hearts, no fear.
A place where only our passions unfurled.
A world where only our love we'll allow.
As my first sonnet was written in the "Shakespearean" form, I chose to take a different approach with my newest addition. I wanted it to be about two people being struggling to be in love while far apart, and I wanted to use a more Italian way of doing it. Thus, I chose to write Sonnet II in the "Petrarchan" style. Hope you enjoy!
